Sugar-free, salt-free Homemade Fajita Seasoning Mix
- 1 tbsp paprika
- 1 tbsp ground cumin
- 2 tsp chili powder (increase to 1 tbsp for hotter seasoning)
- 1 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1 1/2 tsp Lakanto Classic Sweetener or Swerve Granular Sweetener
- 1 tsp dried Mexican oregano
- 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
- Optional: 1/8 tsp of cayenne if you like it hot
- For a smooth texture, measure then run the oregano through a spice grinder before mixing. Combine all ingredients together in a small bowl or jar, then whisk or shake to combine.
- Makes amazing chicken fajitas and is also an excellent dry rub for beef and pork. To use as a rub, generously season meat on all sides then let sit 1-2 hours before cooking.
Use smoked paprika and a pinch of ground chipotle chile pepper for a smoky rub that is excellent on grilled meat.
Double to make a larger batch and store in an airtight container for up to 3 months.
Note: We omit salt from this recipe, so you will want to salt food to taste when cooking.
