We’re no strangers to nutritional yeast (in sauces, seasonings, and shamelessly by the spoonful), but only recently tried Anthony’s Goods brand. Rich, buttery, no bitterness – we have been to the top of the mountain, and it is good. We took a page out of Trader Joe’s playbook and used Nutrition Yeast as the base for a chicken-flavored seasoning, but ours has no salt. And that, ladies and gentlemen, is how we arrived at Salt-Free Vegan Chicken Seasoning and Bouillon. Use it to make cauliflower taste like chicken, in soups, or to season anything to approximate poultry.
PSA: Don’t skip the dried red bell pepper flakes – they’re available online and at whole/local gourmet food stores. Please note that these are NOT spicy red pepper flakes, and two tablespoons of those would leave you spitting fire like Godzilla stepping on Legos. Also, we do not advocate stepping on Legos.

Salt-Free Vegan Chicken Seasoning and Bouillon

Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups Anthony’s Nutritional Yeast
- 2 tbsp dried red bell pepper flakes
- 1 tbsp onion powder
- 2 tsp Lakanto Classic Sweetener
- 3/4 tsp ground turmeric
- 1 tsp dried parsley leaves
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp whole celery seed
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp dried rubbed sage
- 1/4 tsp dried marjoram
- 1/4 tsp dried thyme
- 1/4 tsp dried rosemary
- 1/8 tsp dried tarragon
- 1/8 tsp dried oregano
- 1/8 tsp ground black pepper
Instructions
- Place the dried bell peppers and all the spices in large bullet blender cup or blender pitcher. Pulse until powdered.
- Add the nutritional yeast and pulse until all ingredients are powdered. Let sit 5 minutes before opening.
Notes
Store in a glass airtight container for up to 3 months.
